What is the Fisher House?
The Fisher House Foundation is a unique private-public partnership that supports America’s military and veteran families in their time of greatest need. The Foundation builds comfort homes where families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. These homes are located near VA medical centers and military hospitals worldwide.
Over the past 19 years, the Monmouth and Aberdeen Communities have partnered with the Fisher House Foundation to host the annual galas, raising over $2 million. The funds raised support the construction and maintenance of these comfort homes, providing a home away from home for military families.
Impact of Previous Galas
Thanks to your generous support, the 2023 Fisher House Gala raised an impressive $173,000:
- $33,000 contributed to the Fisher House Scholarship Fund
- $15,000 allocated for the future Fisher House at Perry Point, VA
- $125,000 donated to the Fisher House Foundation
These contributions have made a significant impact in serving those who have served our country, ensuring that military families have a supportive environment during challenging times.
The Future Fisher House at Perry Point
Fisher House is also excited to announce the future construction of a Fisher House at the Perry Point VA Medical Center, one of 27 sites selected nationwide. This new facility will provide a haven for family members and caregivers of veterans receiving care at the Baltimore and Perry Point VA Medical Centers, and the Loch Raven VA Community Living & Rehabilitation Center.
Fundraising for Perry Point
All proceeds from the gift basket raffle will be donated to the Perry Point Fisher House. In the last two years, they have raised $42,897 towards this new facility. Join them in their efforts to support this worthy cause and help them reach new fundraising heights this year.
