Colonel (Retired) Brian Tachias Sr. currently serves as the Senior Vice President of the Huntsville Business Unit. Colonel (Ret.) Tachias is a United States Army veteran with over thirty years of service and aviation acquisition experience, culminating his military service as the Chief of Staff for the Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. As the Chief of Staff, he provided strategic leadership and assisted in the execution of a $30B budget in support of the Army’s aviation programs.
Prior to his assignment at the PEO Aviation Headquarters, Colonel Tachias served as the Project Manager (PM) for Army Fixed Wing Aircraft. He is recognized for establishing the Army’s first Fixed Wing Aircraft Management Program Office and quickly taking the lead of the acquisition, development and sustainment for the Army’s fleet of 382 fixed wing aircraft. PM Fixed Wing was responsible for establishing a forward deployed support element in Afghanistan and successfully developed and deployed Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance systems to meet urgent Counter Improvised Explosive Device operational requirements. Still today, these systems are credited with protecting valuable assets and saving countless lives.
A few of his career highlights include: Product Manager for the PEO Combat Support, Combat Service Support, Assistant Product Manager for the UH-60 Blackhawk and Kiowa Helicopters, Troop Commander, and UH-60 Flight Platoon Leader in 4th Squadron 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Infantry Rifle Platoon Leader assigned to 1st Battalion 506th Infantry Regiment located at Camp Greaves, Korea.
Colonel (Ret.) Tachias’ civilian education includes a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the College of Santa Fe, a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from Central Michigan University, and a Master of Science degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He is a member of the Acquisition Corps and holds a level III certification in Program Management and is also a graduate of the Defense Executive Program Manager’s Course.
