On Wednesday March 22nd, MAG’s Newport News team hosted a BBQ to benefit the Angel Flight Mid Atlantic organization, which is dedicated to ensuring that patients can reach specialized medical treatments by providing them with free air and ground transportation. The Angel Flight mission inspired our team to contribute to this worthy cause.  MAG prepared 270 pounds of pork the night before the event and set up tents to sell BBQ plates with all the fixings right outside the MAG office!

The event saw tremendous support from current and former MAG employees, family members, and military personnel with over 250 orders sold and more than $3,350 raised for the Angel Flight charity. MAG is making a matching donation, bringing the total donations to $6,700! If you would like to support this cause, Angel Flight Mid Atlantic continues to welcome donations directly through their site at https://www.mercymedical.org/individual-donations.

Fourteen employees from the Newport News office brought their different skills and talents together to organize the event, prepare the food, and host the BBQ that was well attended by the community and a huge success.  And they had fun doing it!

The idea to support Angel Flight Mid Atlantic was encouraged by President Matt Bartlett, who urged MAG sites to connect with charities that resonate with their teams. We encourage all MAG teams to reach out to local charities to organize donations and events, demonstrating MAG’s commitment to philanthropy.
